Mike Paora

Mike Paora is a passionate artist dedicated to upcycling and sustainability. As a seasoned carpenter of Ngāpuhi and Ngāti Tūwharetoa descent, he breathes new life into donated and salvaged native timbers, transforming them into stunning creations. His work highlights the inherent beauty of these unique timbers, many of which are no longer readily available. Inspired by his cultural heritage and a deep respect for nature, Mike's creations reflect his commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship. Residing in Whangārei, he continues to create pieces that showcase the charm and characteristics of New Zealand's native timbers.
