Our Favourite Ski Destinations for the Season

An Alpine Edit by BONZ

At BONZ, winter isn’t just a season — it’s part of who we are. Our design philosophy is shaped by landscapes where cold air sharpens the senses, natural fibres thrive, and craftsmanship has real purpose. From our Queenstown atelier to the mountain towns that inspire our collections, we’re always drawn to places where alpine living and refined winter style come together.

Below is our selection of the ski destinations we return to year after year. Each offers something unique: dramatic terrain, rich culture, unforgettable après-ski, and an atmosphere where shearling, merino, and alpaca knits feel perfectly at home.

Aspen, Colorado

For: glamour, heritage, and some of the world’s best powder

Aspen strikes the perfect balance between authentic mountain culture and effortless sophistication. With four distinct mountains — Aspen Mountain, Snowmass, Highlands, and Buttermilk — it offers terrain for every kind of skier, from relaxed cruisers to those chasing steeper bowls.

Away from the snow, Aspen delivers one of the most memorable winter atmospheres in the world. Chic restaurants, boutique hotels, and a strong arts scene make it feel both polished and personal.

BONZ loves:

  • The challenge and beauty of Highlands Bowl

  • Long lunches at The Little Nell

  • The way shearling has become Aspen’s unofficial winter uniform

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

For: rugged beauty and world-class adventure

Jackson Hole is a destination for skiers who want immersion — deep powder, steep terrain, and scenery that feels raw and untouched. The Teton Range creates one of the most dramatic backdrops in North America, and the mountain’s challenging runs draw some of the most dedicated skiers in the world.

Beyond the intensity, Jackson has a warmth to it: wildlife sanctuaries, authentic mountain lodges, and a community that values the outdoors without any pretence.

BONZ loves:

  • The contrast between the untamed Tetons and the natural softness of a handcrafted shearling coat

  • The way materials shaped by nature feel right at home in Jackson’s deep cold

Coronet Peak, Queenstown, New Zealand

For: Southern Hemisphere winter magic and cinematic alpine views

Coronet Peak is in our backyard, and it will always hold a special place for us. Just a short drive from Queenstown, it offers crisp winter mornings, spectacular ridgelines, and the thrill of night skiing — something you don’t often find elsewhere.

The mountain caters to every level, making it the ideal destination whether you’re learning to ski, cruising with the family, or chasing fast morning laps.

BONZ loves:

  • The clean winter light you only get in the South Island

  • The fresh alpine air that makes natural fibres feel incredible

  • The simple feeling of skiing “at home” — something uniquely Queenstown

Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia

For: scale, variety, and a vibrant après-ski scene

Whistler Blackcomb is one of the largest ski areas in North America, and it shows. From vast alpine bowls to sheltered forest runs, the terrain is so varied that every day on the mountain feels different. The pedestrian village ties it all together with great food, lively bars, and a global ski community.

The climate can shift quickly, which makes layering essential — Whistler rewards those who dress smart.

BONZ loves:

  • Soft alpaca knits, shearling jackets, and warm accessories for Whistler’s changing temperatures

  • The energetic village atmosphere that makes even a simple hot chocolate feel like part of the experience

St. Moritz, Switzerland

For: European winter elegance and timeless alpine heritage

St. Moritz is synonymous with sophistication. The Engadin Valley offers world-class skiing, iconic winter events, and a level of refinement that few destinations match. This is where Europeans have been escaping to the mountains for over a century — and it shows in the architecture, the atmosphere, and the attention to detail.

It’s a place where natural fibres truly shine against a backdrop of clean sunlight, soft snow, and understated luxury.

BONZ loves:

  • The old-world charm of the Engadin

  • The elegance of natural materials worn in a town built around style and tradition

Niseko, Japan

For: incredibly light powder and serene mountain culture

Niseko is renowned for its consistent, dry, and unbelievably light powder — often considered the best in the world. Set on the northern island of Hokkaido, it blends Japanese hospitality with a ski experience that feels almost dreamlike.

A day in Niseko is usually followed by an onsen soak, a ritual that makes winter feel calm, restorative, and deeply satisfying.

BONZ loves:

  • The peaceful rhythm of ski days followed by warm onsen baths

  • How shearling and alpaca perform beautifully in Niseko’s deep, dry cold

Wherever You Ski This Season

Whether you find yourself on the powder-rich slopes of Niseko, the elegant streets of St. Moritz, or the dramatic peaks of Jackson Hole, winter is always better with pieces made to last. Natural fibres, handcrafted details, and thoughtful layering make every ski destination feel even more special.

From Coronet Peak — our own backyard — to Aspen, Whistler, and beyond, BONZ celebrates the art of winter living across the globe.
